A little too Raph (batch, please)
A few weeks ago, Rosco came back from Carbondale to shoot a wedding in Lexington. While in town, we made a photo-date to work on a project for my column on Serious eats. We had a great time photographing cookies for Make Your Own (Better) Soft Batch Cookies, but during the photo shoot we got a little off track pursuing a. . . side quest.
As Rosco ate one of my Mock Batch Cookies he said, “These are soft. Like, a little too soft.”
I replied, “Yeah, and kinda generic flavor.”
Rosco nodded, “A little too generic.”
And all I can say is this: if you don’t understand how that conversation inevitably led to the following photo, no amount of explaination will help. You just won’t get it. But, if the phrase, “a little too Raph” means anything to you, dude that’s radical.
But while we’re still turtle loving kids at heart, our palates have grown up and we need more than the signature Soft Batch je nais se crap. So I invented the Soft Batch’s evil, indulgent twin.
Same ultra soft texture, but upgraded with vanilla bean, brown butter, dark chocolate chunks, and Frangelico.
So whip up a batch of Batches, pour yourself a glass of milk and enjoy.

Time goes by too fast. these cookies look fantastic not to mention the awesome pictures

Love your tasty upgrade to these cookies! I am open to various textures when it comes to cookies, so these soft ones are something that is agreeable. Right now-TMNT or not-I am ready to steal one of these!

Loved TMNT as a kid. My daughter loves anything related to wildlife or anything featured on animal planet…And of course, who wouldn’t love choco chip cookies? Bring out the milk…

@Kimberly, haha, yeah my childhood is filled with memories of my brother and TMNT. Good times!
@Tina, they are really freakishly soft. Not cakey, just…soft.
@Adrienne, and cookies too?
@Christine, yeah, Rosco seriously outdid himself this time. Epic!
@Jill, do they have Soft Batch cookies in Europe?
@Jessica, so do I! I have all the classic cartoon theme songs, Batman, X-Men, Animaniacs and a few others. Oh, good times!
@Mallowsota, I have common ground with Mistersota at last!! He would, I promise, love these cookies too.
@Anna, I am so stinkin’ happy to see so many TMNT fans!

My husband just walked by and went, “Aw, yeah! Awesome!” (as I knew he would… big Turtles fan.) Glad you found up with a faithful albeit more sophisticated recreation of your beloved cookie.

@Ashley, me too! Well, just the one brother. But I was way more into Turtles than Barbie, cos then we could play together! And take down a bag of Soft Batch while we were at it. Man, we could eat those up. Love my brother.

I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own weblog
and was curious what all is required to get
set up? I’m assuming having a blog like yours
would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very
web savvy so I’m not 100% sure. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve been surfing online more than 4 hours
today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours.
It’s pretty worth enough for me. In my view, if all webmasters and bloggers
made good content as you did, the web will be much more useful than ever before.
